Indoor plants
Indoor plants not only look great but also have some excellent health benefits such as:
- Cleaning the air by eliminating harmful toxins: The spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is one of the best plants for this purpose and is also one of the easiest indoor plants to keep alive.
- Plants are natural humidifiers, which is particularly helpful during Canberra’s cold, dry Winters – try a Areca palm to put out a little extra moisture into your air
- Studies have shown that having plants in your home or office can reduce stress and fatigue and enhance productivity – Our favourite office plant is the Ctenanthe (pictured) which has interesting stripey leaves!

- uPVC frames never rot or corrode and are unaffected by salt corrosion, which makes them perfect for coastal dwellers. They are highly durable and are UV resistant, meaning that they won’t fade in the unforgiving Australian sunshine.
- Come in a wide variety of finishes – wood embossed, metallic, matt and brushed – to complement any style.
- At the end of its life cycle the old window components are used to make new ones through KÖMMERLING’s recycling initiative which facilitates a sustainable materials cycle.

Real Christmas Tree
There’s nothing more Christmassy than the smell of a real Christmas tree. If this alone doesn’t convince you to go for the real thing this year, here are a few more reasons to consider:
- A real tree is 100% biodegradable and recyclable
- While growing, pine trees filter the air and provide habitats for birds and insects, and because they’re locally grown, they have a smaller carbon footprint than artificial trees that have been imported from overseas.
- You can support the RSPCA by purchasing a tree at the RSPCA in Weston open 9am-5pm until the 23rd of December.
- If the annual investment in a real tree puts you off, why not invest in a potted tree you can re-use every year!

External Shading
Did you know 87% of your homes heat gain occurs through windows?
Internal curtains limit direct sunlight into rooms, however they do little to reduce heat transference via windows. External shading stops heat from entering your home - resulting in less need for AC, lowering your power bills.
Awning blinds are an effective solution that can be tailored to compliment the design of your home. We like the Luxaflex Ventura Folding Arm Awning in this classic stripe as it makes you feel like you’re on holiday in Capri!
